Salon du Chocolat 2018 Paris

Salon du Chocolat 2018: Nature offers something to suit all tastes!

The 24th annual edition of the Salon du Chocolat in Paris takes place from October 31 to November 4, 2018 at the Porte de Versailles exhibition hall 4.

This tasty event is ranked among the 14 reasons to visit Paris by Condé Nast Traveller, among the top 10 gourmet events in the world by World Guide and among the 10 best culinary events in Paris by The Culture Trip, according to the event’s official website.

Indeed, the five-day chocolate extravaganza, the world’s biggest chocolate festival, showcases the hottest trends in chocolate and pastry from France and around the world.

The theme for 2018, “Nature offers something to suit all tastes,” celebrates the diversity and wealth of chocolate flavours, shining the spotlight on cocoa’s popularity today as a “superfood,” star of “raw culture” and of healthy living. More than 500 chocolatiers, culinary chefs, pastry chefs and cocoa experts will be on hand to present their products on some 230 stands.

As always, the 2018 Salon du Chocolat promises plenty of attractions: chocolate and pastry demonstrations and workshops, interactive presentations, seminars, book signings, music & entertainment and plenty of chocolate samples.

Among the many featured artisans are François Pralus, Jean-Paul Hévin, Jean-Charles Rochoux, Georges Larnicol, Arnaud Larher and numerous other leading Paris chocolatiers.

And of course, there’s also the legendary chocolate fashion show that takes place every afternoon.

For the third consecutive year, the Salon du Chocolat’s opening night (October 30) will be open to the public. (A limited number of tickets are available for sale, with proceeds going to charity.)

This year the International World Chocolate Masters Final will be taking place alongside the Salon du Chocolat, from October 31 to November 2, 2018. Led by Cacao Barry, the competition will feature 21 finalists from as many countries vying to win the title of World Chocolate Master 2018.

The annual Awards du Chocolat, organised by the Club des Croqueurs de Chocolat in partnership with the Salon du Chocolat, will also be announced.

Chocolate shows still to come in 2018/2019 include London, Lyon, Beirut, Seoul, Japan (Tokyo, Sendai, Sapporo, Kyoto, Fukuoka, Nagoya), Brussels, Milan and Moscow.
