A marvel of a chocolaterie-confiserie with its gorgeous late 19th-century décor, Au Bonbon Royal has a loyal following among locals.
The store itself was originally a gourmet grocers specialising in coffee, tea and spices before being transformed into sweets shop.
Owner and chocolatier Philippe Ploquin took over the business in 1992. His artisanal chocolates are made with carefully selected ingredients from around the world.
House specialities include ganache au thé, spicy cinnamon chocolates and chocolates made with chestnuts.
In addition to chocolates, the shop sells fine confections from around France and abroad.
