Jean Millet

Jean Millet has been open on rue Saint-Dominique since 1963, and the place has a delightful retro ambiance that is reminiscent of the Paris of that era.

A favorite among locals, the shop offers delicious baked goods according to some, they make the best pain au chocolat in the world  as well as the usual assortment of tarts, eclairs, millefeuilles, and other sweet treats.

Today the man behind the prized croissants, brioches, and pastries is renowned master pasty chef Denis Ruffel.

The store is small, but there are a few tables and chairs where you can sit down and enjoy your selection.

At lunchtime they also offer soups, salads and a hot plat du jour.

Jean Millet also has outlets in Tokyo and Yokohama.
