La Maison du Chocolat

La Maison du Chocolat is probably France’s most famous chocolate shop, a veritable institution favored by chocolate lovers in Paris and around the world.

Founded in 1977 by master chocolatier Robert Linxe, the company today boasts six shops in Paris, along with outlets in Le Printemps department store and at Charles de Gaulle airport, as well as stores in Cannes, London, New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

In April 2012, Nicolas Cloiseau was named as La Maison du Chocolat’s head chocolatier.

The original store, located just off the Champs Elysées, is brimming with exquisite creations, silky ganaches flavored with lemon, orange, fennel or ginger or more exotic morsels infused with basil, rosemary and jasmine.

The shops also offers a tempting assortment of decadently rich chocolate pastries– eclairs, macarons, chocolate tarts and cakes — as well as ice cream.

Speciality: “Figaro Noir” – a mixture of hazelnuts, almonds and caramel covered in dark chocolate

  1. Your “La Maison du Chocolat” has recipes that call for flour but DON”T specify whether the measure is sifted OR unsifted — and it does make a difference as you know!
Also, unless marked otherwise, simply “flour” is all-purpose, yes?
    Thank you.

  2. I just asked about flour in your book’s recipes (sifted? not? all-purpose if not otherwise marked?)

Please reply via e-mail. Thank you.
