Abanico Chocolat was founded by Victoire Finaz, who, as the great-granddaughter of a chocolatier, grew up in the family chocolate business in Lyon.
According to the company’s website, her passion for chocolate was ignited in 2003 when she attended the legendary Salon du Chocolat in Paris, where she had a chance to work alongside master chocolatier Christian Grau.
More Salons followed, and Ms. Finaz continued to follow her passion while developing her chocolate skills and knowledge, and organising workshops and tastings.
After studying with Pierre Hermé at Ecole Grégoire Ferrandi, Victoire Finaz was inspired to launch her own line of chocolates, and Abanico Chocolat was born.
The company sells mainly online, however a Paris showroom was inaugurated in October 2010.
