This delightful boulangerie-pâtisserie from another era makes wonderful artisanal breads and pastries. It is in fact reputed to have macarons that rival those of Ladurée and other famous names.

The shop, located on the quiet place des Petits Pères, dates back to 1896 and the décor seems pretty much intact, with its colourful tiled walls, moulded ceilings and retro light fixtures.

Au Panetier is also known for its excellent pains au chocolat.
