Chocolate Sauce

This silky-smooth chocolate sauce is the perfect topping for ice cream, cakes and other desserts.

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Yields approximately 150 ml (2/3 cup)

Ingredients

  • 115 grams (4 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons liqueur (orange, almond or coffee) or 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons of butter

Directions

  1. Place chocolate and water in a saucepan and melt over very low heat, stirring constantly until completely smooth.
  2. Add sugar, increase to medium heat and bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 1 minute.
  3. Add butter and either liqueur or vanilla.
  4. Store in refrigerator (may be reheated over low heat).
