This silky-smooth chocolate sauce is the perfect topping for ice cream, cakes and other desserts.
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Yields approximately 150 ml (2/3 cup)
Ingredients
- 115 grams (4 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
- ¼ cup water
- ¼ cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons liqueur (orange, almond or coffee) or 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons of butter
Directions
- Place chocolate and water in a saucepan and melt over very low heat, stirring constantly until completely smooth.
- Add sugar, increase to medium heat and bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 1 minute.
- Add butter and either liqueur or vanilla.
- Store in refrigerator (may be reheated over low heat).
