Maité and Bruno De Rick founded Chocolaterie de Beussent in 1985 in a small town of the same name located near Le Touquet (Pas de Calais department).
Early on, the company exported much of its production to the United States, where Alain De Rick ran its California-based operations.
In 1994 the company expanded with the purchase of a small farm in Lachelle (Oise department), where its chocolatiers continued to make and refine chocolate.
And thus Chocolaterie Beussent Lachelle was born. Today there are 11 stores in France, including one in Paris’s 4th arrondissement.
The company is one of the rare chocolatiers in France that makes its own chocolate from raw cacao beans.
