For many years Jacques Genin, one of Paris’s most reputed pâtissiers-chocolatiers, worked out of his laboratoire in the 15th arrondissement, producing his sweet gastronomic luxuries for Paris’s finest restaurants and hotels.
Fortunately, Monsieur Genin opened his own storefront in 2008, a gorgeous, spacious locale in the Marais showcasing his exquisite confections: herb and spice-infused ganaches, almond rochers, classic and salted butter caramels, fresh fruit jellies, delicate pastries, to name only a few.
His attention to detail and freshness is such that his famous millefeuille pastries are made to order for each and every customer — well worth the wait, most will agree.
Jacques Genin was named one of the top French chocolatiers in 2010 by the Club des Croqueurs de Chocolat.
His chocolate and pastry shop, located in the vicinity of the trendy rue de Bretagne, features a tea salon where patrons can enjoy tea or hot chocolate with a pastry or two.
