A visit to Michel Chaudun’s gorgeous yet unpretentious shop in Paris’s chic 7th arrondissement is always a treat, both for the fabulous chocolates on offer and the warm and hospitable service.
A former chocolatier at La Maison du Chocolat, Mr. Chaudun has enjoyed great success with his three shops in Japan and the boutique in Paris.
The New York Times describes him as “wildly talented as an artist and chocolate sculptor (…) to say nothing of his reputation for being one of the world’s best chocolatiers.”
His most famous creation? Smooth and silky chocolate pavés, or cobblestones, delectable cubes of ganache dusted with cocoa powder.
Update: October 2015 – Michel Chaudun’s chocolate store in Paris is being taken over by chocolatier and pastry chef Gilles Marchal. The store will be closed for renovations from Friday October 16 to Monday November 9, 2015. Stay tuned for more details.

Hi
Was the Springer Spaniel for a dog named Gemma?
My family and I love your paves. In fact, last month I asked what they wanted from Paris and they all said paves. I thought the gentleman who waited on me said your cakes can be sent to the states. Please add me to your mailing list for updates. Thank you.
Did I read correctly? Did the Paris stores close permanently?
