This elegant pastry shop, boulangerie and restaurant located just steps from the Assemblée Nationale, in one of the city’s poshest neighbourhoods, is a Paris institution.
Open in this location since 1859, Rollet-Pradier offers classic pastries and chocolates, as well as sandwiches and other light snacks.
On the upper floor there’s a tearoom, which also serves as a restaurant between noon and 2 p.m.
Jean-Marie Desfontaines, who spent 20 years with Ladurée after taking over the helm from his father, Pierre Desfontaines (who is credited with inventing the double-sided macaron in 1930), has been the owner of Rollet-Pradier since 1999.
Pastry chef Olivier Menin specializes in chocolate desserts, such as le crémeux chocolat, le chocolat au lait de banane, and chocolat-fraise-basilic.
