Salon du Chocolat 2013: The Magic of Chocolate!

The 19th annual edition of the Salon du Chocolat is just around the corner, taking place in Paris from October 30 to November 3, 2013.

This year’s show is bigger than ever, with two showroom levels and 20,000 square metres of exhibition space–nearly double the size of last year’s show–devoted to chocolate in all its forms!

The theme of this year’s edition focuses on the question “Why is chocolate so magical?”

Indeed, more than 400 chocolatiers, chefs, pastry chefs and cocoa experts from France and abroad (Belgium, Switzerland, Japan, Denmark, Vietnam, Italy, Lebanon, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Indonesia…) will converge on Paris to share their knowledge and products at this popular gastronomic event.

Among the dozens of featured artisans are François Pralus, Jean-Paul Hévin, Arnaud Larher, Jean-Charles Rochoux, Michel Cluizel, Sadaharu Aoki and numerous other leading Paris-based chocolatiers.

And for the first time ever, “Pastry King” Pierre Hermé will be on hand, along with other first-time exhibitors Laurent Duchêne and Carl Marletti.

Also new this year is an area dedicated exclusively to French confectionery and regional specialities.

As with past editions, the amazing five-day chocolate festival will feature chocolate and pastry demonstrations and workshops, interactive presentations, seminars, book signings, music & entertainment and plenty of chocolate goodies to sample, not to mention the stunning chocolate fashion show that takes place every afternoon.

Three other key chocolate events will be held alongside the Salon du Chocolat 2013: the bi-annual World Chocolate Masters Final; the 3rd edition of the International Cocoa Awards; and the annual Awards du Chocolat, organised by the Club des Croqueurs de Chocolat in partnership with the Salon du Chocolat.

Chocolate shows are also taking place in 2013/2014 in Lyon, Cannes, Marseille, Nantes, Salvador da Bahia, London, New York, Seoul, Tokyo, Kyoto, Nagoya, Osaka, Sapporo, Sendai, Fukuoka, Brussels, Zurich and Lima, with a show planned for Shanghai next year.

  1. Hi there,

My husband and I are planning to come to the Salon du Chocolat 2014 for our wedding anniversary. We did come before in 2011! I really wanted to buy the tickets that look like a credit card or at least a ticket with color that looked like a postcard, but all I got was a black and white receipt. I really wanted this colored ticket to keep in my scrapbook for our anniversary. Could you advise me as how I can buy the colored tickets? Thank you in advance for your help!

      1. Dear Françoise,

Thank you for your response. I did email them twice, but no-one ever respond to me:(. That’s why I thought you might know a different way that I may buy these tickets.

Thank you again, if you have other suggestions I would love to hear from you.
