Jean-Paul Hévin is widely regarded as Paris’s leading chocolatier, a true chocolate artist whose creations include chocolate Eiffel Towers, chocolate cigars and even chocolate stiletto shoes.
Behind the plain-looking façade of his flagship chocolate store on the elite rue Saint-Honoré (1st arr.) is a sleek and softly-lit modern designer space filled with phenomenal chocolate creations.
The display cases are filled with extra-dark ganaches, pralines and milk chocolates in over 40 different varieties featuring fruit fillings, spices, caramels and liqueurs.
From big, chunky rochers, to rich, dark truffles in Hévin’s signature blue tins, to Caracas, a divine vanilla-flavored cocoa cake with bitter chocolate mousse, this shop is a simply a chocolate lovers’ paradise.
Of course you’ll find chocolate tarts, chocolate mousse, old-fashioned chocolate macarons and chocolate eclairs. There are plenty of luxury chocolate gift items too.
But perhaps the most original creation of all: cheese-filled chocolates, to be served as appetizers! Featuring Pont-l’Évêque cheese and thyme, goat cheese and hazelnut, or roquefort and walnut, these chocolates await the most adventurous of chocolate lovers.
The tea room located above the store has been transformed into a stylish new cocoa bar, where patrons can order Hévin’s luscious chocolate pastries or his famous luxury hot chocolate.
Speciality: “Woman” – green tea and bergamot almond paste ganache, covered in dark chocolate

Hello Shirley,
Jean-Paul Hévin has published a book of recipes called Délices de Chocolat. Some of his recipes also appear in Chocolate French: Recipes, Language, and Directions to Francais au Chocolat
Best wishes
I enjoyed my chocolat chaud and pastries upstairs in the tearoom (during the Salon du Chocolat 2010). I do not remember which location of Jean-Pierre Hevin we enjoyed. I do not think it was in the 1st arr. Do each of your shops have an upstairs tearoom?
Merci!
Are your chocolates available in the United States? If so where?
