A la Mère de Famille, Paris’s oldest sweets shop, recently opened a new store on rue Bonaparte (6th arr.).
Located at 70, rue Bonaparte, a few steps away from Pierre Hermé, the new shop is packed with the delicious confections produced by the company’s artisan chefs. Chocolates, nougat, calissons, marzipan, macarons, caramels, marshmallows and marrons glacés and just some of the goodies you’ll find here. The company is also reputed for its gourmet ice cream, considered among the best in Paris.
Both the shop’s dark green façade, with its glass gilded sign, and its wood and tile interior are inspired by the company’s original shop on rue du Faubourg-Montmartre, largely unchanged since its founding in 1761.
This newest location brings to nine the number of A la Mère de Famille stores in Paris (the company also has a store in Saint-Maur).
