As always, the traditional Easter egg hunts in Paris promise plenty of family fun. A number of events are taking place in the city, notably at the foot of the Eiffel Tower (Secours Populaire’s annual Easter egg hunt has moved from Parc des Buttes Chaumont to the Champ de Mars this year).
For those prepared to go farther afield, several picturesque sites in the Paris environs will also be featuring Easter egg hunts and other activities for children.
Here is the line-up of Easter egg hunts in and around Paris for 2014:
Secours Populaire is holding its famous Easter egg hunt on the Champ de Mars (Ecole Militaire side). The event takes place on Sunday, April 20, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A “permit” costs 5 euros, which provides access to the egg hunt while supporting the charity. Coloured eggs collected can be exchanged for chocolate treats.
Mairie du 7ème arrondissement (116 rue de Grenelle, 75007) is holding its annual Easter egg hunt on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 2 p.m, to 4 p.m., with departures every 30 minutes. Reservations can be made by calling 01 53 58 75 60. Free admission for children and their parents.
The annual Easter egg hunt at the Conciergerie (1st arr.) takes place on Sunday, April 20, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free for children and teens under 18.
Hard Rock Café Paris is offering an Easter egg hunt & brunch on Sunday, April 20, 2014 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Admission adults 20 euros, children 12 euros. More information 01 53 24 60 00.
Hôtel Fouquet’s Barrière (46, avenue George V, 75008) is offering an Easter egg hunt on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 3 p.m. in the hotel’s interior courtyard along with Easter-themed workshops for children. Admission 65 euros. More information 01 40 69 60 64
Château de Vincennes is holding an Easter egg hunt on Sunday, April 20, 2014 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission: 8.50 euros/5.50 euros, free for those under 18.
Cité Médiévale de Provins is organising an Easter egg hunt on Sunday, April 20 and Monday, April 21, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. A total of 7,500 chocolate eggs will be hidden in the cobblestone streets of this beautiful historic town. The event is free for children under 12. Participants must arrive at the Office de Tourisme by 2 p.m. More information 01 64 60 26 26
Domaine de Saint-Jean de Beauregard (Essone) is offering an Easter egg hunt in its 17th-century gardens on Sunday, April 20 and Monday, April 21, 2014. Parc de Thoiry (Yvelines) is holding an Easter egg hunt on Sunday, April 20 and Monday, April 21, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with 9,000 chocolate eggs, chocolate bunnies and special prizes hidden on the grounds. More information 01 34 87 53 76.
