The 23rd edition of Paris’s famous Salon du Chocolat is set to open in just a few days at VIP Porte de Versailles, running from October 28 to November 1, 2017.
The event, the world’s biggest chocolate and cocoa festival, will feature 20,000 square metres of exhibition space devoted to chocolate in all its forms.
More than 500 participants, including 200 renowned international chefs and pastry chefs from 60 countries, will converge on the French capital to share their knowledge and present their tasty creations.
The theme of this year’s edition focuses on chocolatiers and pâtissiers as the “new adventurers.” Indeed, in recent years, thanks to the “bean-to-bar” trend, many artisan chocolatiers have been travelling all over the world to source new ingredients as they strive to work with cacao in more authentic ways.
Among the dozens of featured artisans are François Pralus, Jean-Paul Hévin, Arnaud Larher, Jean-Charles Rochoux, Georges Larnicol, and Sadaharu Aoki.
As in past years, the five-day festival will feature chocolate and pastry demonstrations and workshops, interactive presentations, seminars, book signings, music & entertainment and plenty of chocolate goodies to sample, not to mention the stunning chocolate fashion show that takes place every afternoon.
The winners of the 2017 Awards du Chocolat and International Cocoa Awards will also announced during the Salon.
