Best French chocolatiers for 2014

The Awards du Chocolat for 2014 were presented on Friday, October 31 in Paris at the annual Salon du Chocolat, which wrapped up on Sunday, November 2.

Organised by Club des Croqueurs de Chocolat and Salon du Chocolat, the annual awards recognize excellence among chocolatiers in France and abroad.

Chocolate awards this year were given to Aux Petits Gourmands (Award de la Recherche Créative), Benoît Chocolats (Award de la Chocolatière), Chocolaterie Hawecker (Award du Décor), Julien M. (Award de l’Espoir), Mori Yoshida (Award du Chocolatier Etranger en France), Noël Jovy Chocolatier (Award du Coup de Cœur), Pâtisserie François (Award de la Découverte), Pâtisserie Laurent Duchêne (Award de l’Excellence), Pâtisserie Chocolaterie Chasles (Award du Nouvel Entrant), es-koyama (Award Etranger de l’Excellence), M de Noir (Award de l’Espoir Etranger) and Oberweis (Award Jubilatoire du Jubilé).

The Club des Croqueurs de Chocolat also honoured 20 chocolatiers as “not to be missed” masters of French chocolate. These are Sadaharu Aoki, Nicolas Cloiseau (La Maison du Chocolat), Gilles Cresno, Jean-Pierre Etienvre (Dupont avec thé), Franck Fresson, Jacques Genin, Fabrice Gillotte, Vincent Guerlais, Pierre Hermé, Jean-Paul Hévin, Pascal Lac, Arnaud Larher, Hubert Masse (Le Cacaotier), Pascal Le Gac, Henri Le Roux, Pierre Marcolini, François Pralus, Patrick Roger, Christophe Roussel and Richard Sève.

Founded in 1981, the Paris-based Club des Croqueurs de Chocolat (CCC) is an independent group of 150 serious chocolate enthusiasts who meet regularly for chocolate tastings and other chocolate-themed events. The Club also publishes an annual guide to the best chocolate shops in France.
